All Mountain Skis

On any given Sunday

A day or two after the fresh powder is skied out, the mountain takes on many different forms: Groomers, Bumps and chopped up crud. Believe it or not, there are skis that do well in all of these conditions, yet excel in one or the other, but most people find workable for "the one ski" for all but the deepest days! Make no mistake, these skis can get throught some of the deep snow as well!

Greg selected 3 skis the staff has picked as "go to" skis on any given day. Each ski can tackle similar terrain, yet they all have a place where they excel. If we were to seperate your average day with GROOMERS, bumps, and tracked out crud left in the bowls we can see how these skis stack up!

Stockli Stormrider XL- Built to standards and with the quality of materials formerly found only on the World Cup tour, Stockli offers a ski unmatched in both quality and craftsmanship. The Stormrider XL is built with the same construction and feel as a World Cup Giant Slalom ski. For the solid intermediate and above that likes to cruise fast with big sweeping turns, this ski can’t be beat. With its 75mm waist the Stormrider is also very powerful in crud. For the discerning skier, this Stockli may be a handful in moguls but is pure confidence underfoot while cruising the “off piste” as well as ripping Tahoe groomers at warp speed.

Head iM-72- Great value on a fantastic all mountain ski. Quick turn radius, medium flex, and the intelligence feature that adjusts to the ski to the conditions make this a ski that does it all. Overall feel is damp, stable, and smooth. Made with a “Liquidmetal” top sheet for more a livelier feeling! Perfect if you are looking for a single ski for the variety of conditions that Tahoe offers.

Fischer AMC 73- A mid-fat ski that we found to be pure fun. This ski uses synthetic construction taken from Fischer’s aerospace division. It is built to mimic the wing of an airplane. Airplane wings must bend to extremes without failing and cannot twist torsionally. Gee...sounds like a great ski! Guess what? It is! The AMC 73 offers a medium turn radius and a light springy feel. Solid in the crud and a blast for the aggressive mogul skier.
